SIERRA NEVADA CHEESE COMPANY – Case Study
In 2008, ID International was contacted by the Marketing Director of the relatively new but quick-growing Sierra Nevada Cheese Company in California’s Central valley.
They had just acquired a logo but had only good ideas about how to build the new logo and company into a major dairy-foods brand. Being very agile, they had a small variety of products already in production and wanted packaging and advertising materials for them. They also had a long list of products that they wanted to make in the future and all needed dairy product package design.
Their niche is all natural and organic dairy products with all clean ingredients which is quite unique in their industry and we found quite inspiring.
Over the following 10 Years, ID international designed and produced over a hundred separate dairy foods packages for Sierra Nevada Cheese Company, including full wrap food packages, custom boxes and cartons, custom sleeve wraps, and a wide variety of cups like eco-friendly “double wrap” hybrid cups, and other containers.
10 YEARS OF CORPORATE IDENTITY
During that time we named and designed 10 Sierra Nevada Cheese Company product sub-divisions like “Capretta”, “Bella Capra”, and “Cultured Classics”, all with custom logos and dairy brands of their own. We also designed a few side company off-shoot brands with logos like “Sutter Buttes Creamery”, as well as a popular “Know Your Farmer” seal for the California dairy industry.
In 2017 and 2018, ID International was very proud to have been awarded the Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) national design awards for “Outstanding Package Design” for two Sierra Nevada Cheese Company product brand lines.

Here displayed below are a variety of Sierra Nevada Cheese Company sub-brands. Each line of products were designed with specific target audiences and market chains in mind. Most are retail products, while some are bulk products meant for chefs. We applaud the talented ownership and management staff at Sierra Nevada Cheese Company for their great creative vision for their company, and for their monumental growth over the past 20 years into the dairy powerhouse that they are today.
